Newsletter B - Start Strong, Stay Strong
Happy New Year! Happy Thursday! You made it!
When I was young, I used to make long lists of New Year’s resolutions. And, like most people, I’d start strong and lose steam pretty quickly. Because change is hard, slow, and messy.
You know what else is hard, slow, and messy? Parenting. (I said the quiet part out loud.)
To start the year off right, I’m focusing on…
…Noticing incremental positive changes in how I think about and react to my children (and myself).
… Doing the deep work every day because lasting change requires sustained effort over time. I remind myself of this when I’m frustrated by how long it takes to see movement.
…Celebrating wins, even small ones. Aim for progress, not perfection.
… Leaning into support. Asking brave questions. Reaching out when things get confusing. The support and encouragement are there; we just have to be brave enough to seek them out.
Join me in starting strong and staying supported all year.
