Welcome,
I’m Cari

For 30 years I’ve helped create connected families.

As a parent coach, I approach my clients with the humility and absence of judgement of someone who’s been there. Through a lot of trial and a whole lot of error, my own family has learned to solve problems, communicate thoughtfully, meet each other’s needs, and grow closer over time.

Cari Newman Parent Coach

Most importantly, my own parenting journey has put me in your shoes and those of any parent who has ever faced the humbling challenge of raising happy, resilient humans in a demanding and unexpectedly challenging world.

I am a Certified Parent Coach, a Master Certified Life Coach, and a Certified Professional Coach.

Before I was a coach, I was a classroom teacher for 26 years. I received my BA from Emory University and a Master’s in Teaching from Simmons University. I hold certifications in Special and General Education for Early Childhood and Middle Grades, and in Orton-Gillingham (Literacy approach for dyslexic learners; Massachusetts General Hospital).

Every child is a unique and compelling individual, and figuring out how best to inspire each one towards emotional, social, and academic success within a thriving family system is my passion.

At the core of my approach both in teaching and in coaching is a commitment to nurturing the relationships that are central to this work. When the adult-child relationship is positive and connected, real progress is possible. This means using child-centered systems, achieving active buy-in from everyone involved, and establishing loving, firm boundaries.

I help parents reimagine the dynamics of their families while guiding them through the many challenges their children face. The positive changes I have witnessed when working on a team of adults dedicated to the well-being and growth of children and families is nothing short of miraculous.

What People Are Saying

“Thank you, Cari! We are so lucky to have you! I appreciate your guidance and insight and know that, with you on our team, we will get everything heading in the right direction for our little guy and our family. Things don’t seem so insurmountable after we talk.

My Values

Newman Coaching deeply values the diversity of humans and affirms an absolute commitment to respectfully serving our clients' needs across all identities.

My clients are the experts on their own complex lives, and many have life experiences and backgrounds different from my own. I look forward to learning about what makes each family unique, and will not seek to impose my personal views on clients.

I eagerly and lovingly support parents who may be struggling but are willing to challenge their own assumptions in order to parent in ways that better align with their children’s needs.

For parents seeking to join a group, I will screen potential members to confirm that all participants will honor our commitment to these values.

Newman Coaching reserves the right to discontinue services to clients who express unchecked prejudice toward others based on Gender Identity, Sex, Nationality, Class, Race, Religion, or Neurodivergence.

What People Are Saying

“Cari is an amazing resource and helped us immensely during a very difficult time with our loved one.  She was able to advise and coach us as parents of a transgender young adult facing severe depression and anxiety.  She helped us navigate the red tape and find mental health facilities and gender affirming resources to fit our situation.  Most importantly, she helped us develop the tools we needed to better communicate with our child as she struggles through some very difficult times in her life.  We would not have made it through the initial phases of this challenging time without Cari, and we will continue to seek her advice and services as we continue this journey.”
