Why You Can’t (and Shouldn’t) Parent Alone

Happy Thursday! You made it!

I talk a lot about adult interactions in the Parenting in the Real World program because the relationships kids observe growing up become the subconscious templates for their future relationships.

But here’s the part we don’t talk about enough:

Even when things are going well, parenting is hard… like white-knuckling-your-way-through-the-week hard.

That’s why having one trusted adult — a friend, a partner, a co-parent, a coach — who can say, “It makes sense that you’re feeling this way” is more than helpful. It’s essential. Someone who will sit with you in the mess of it all, hold space for your most complicated feelings, and gently help you come back from the edge. That kind of support? It’s sanity-saving.

It’s also why so many parents join our community coaching calls. No matter what they’re feeling when they log in, they leave feeling heard, held, and helped. And most importantly, not alone.

🧠 Real World Strategy:

Reach out to another adult to be part of your support system — whether that’s someone to talk to, lean on, or just laugh with at the end of a long day. You don’t need a perfect plan. You just need a person.

You’re always invited to find your people inside the Parenting in the Real World community. We’re building the village we all wish we had.
